Lady Boss :: Emily Wren

Emily of Emily Wren Photography is hosting Lady Boss this month — we can't wait to meet her because this boss has got some skills. And she sounds super nice. And it's super cool that she offered to host even before she's ever met us. High five, Emily.

And would you believe it? Registration is full even before we got your preview up on the blog! We often do have a cancellation or two the day before the event, though, so if you'd like to join the wait list, please go ahead and sign up here.

Let's take a minute to get to know behind-the-scenes Emily better:

Q: Coffee or tea?
A: My business runs on coffee! But on Summer nights you might find me winding down with a glass of vino verde or cava

Q: Guilty pleasure?
A: Late night snack runs

Q: Time-suck?
A: Decorating my dream home via pinterest

Q: Quick weeknight meal?
A: Jersey corn & tomatoes

Q: What are you listening to lately?
A: Natalie Prass, Fresh Air and WTF podcasts

Q: Who are you crushing on?
A: Recently the photographer @local_milk on Instagram, and Jose Vila (always)

Q: Current mantra?
A: "Work Hard and Be Nice to People"

And now a little about what makes Emily a Lady Boss:

Q: What do you do?
A: Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer

Q: Tell us about a project you recently wrapped
A: Just did a really creative styled shoot inspired by the paintings of the Dutch Masters. It's so rewarding when my passions for creative artistic photography and wedding portraiture combine. And it's always awesome collaborating with other talented and creative vendors in my field.

Q: What makes you go to work each day?
A: I truly love photography. And knowing that the work I do helps people to preserve some of the best memories of their lives makes it feel important and worthwhile beyond just a paycheck.

Q: What made you decide to host a Lady Boss?
A: One of my life mantra's is "a rising tide lifts all ships." I believe in community over competition, especially amongst the women in the industry. I also think it's a great opportunity for us to connect with one another and help each other to grow.
