Event Recap :: Dance on the Falls Bridge 2015

BG Productions

This past September we produced one of our largest events, the Dance on the Falls Bridge. The non-profit East Falls Development Corporation hired us to execute the 5th year of the fundraising event. We were tasked with increasing attendance, increasing profit margins, and making the event regionally recognized. With our non-traditional approach to marketing and event production we were able to meet all goals set forth by the client then some, including selling out tickets!

Throughout the planning process and execution of the event we were able to showcase our logistical skills. While we love weddings, sometimes it’s fun to dig into the details and geek out over logistics — timelines, floor plans, area maps, drop-off schedules, and more! A 1400-person dance on a bridge that is only shut down a few hours before and after the event was the perfect opportunity to put those skills to the test, and pull off a super fun event!

Event Recap :: The Knot Rocks Philly

This summer The Knot asked us to plan and design their annual Philadelphia market event. Our first thought was, "AHHH!! What an honor!" And our second was, "Yikes! How are we going to get busy wedding vendors to be excited for a mid-summer networking event?"

We've been to our fair share of wedding industry networking events — sometimes they’re good, sometimes not so much. We decided if we were going to do this, we simply had to  do everything we could to ensure the event would feel fun, comfortable, and would leave people buzzing. That meant cultivating an amazing vendor team, offering up great food with free-flowing cocktails, mix in some killer music, arrange a few cozy lounges and a sweet photo booth, then top it all off with mood-making market lights in a garden courtyard. And then invite every friendor (vendor friend) in the Philadelphia region.

That's exactly what we did — and we're happy to report that it worked! Not to toot our own horn (or maybe that's exactly what we're doing), but we had the top attendance for any past Philadelphia Knot market event and by far the most post-event buzz (we've heard a lot of "Oh man, I'm so bummed I missed it! Everyone says it was so much fun!"). Hello, happy dance! When do you hear people say that about a networking event?!

Thank you again to our amazing collaborating vendors (listed below)! Don’t miss the awesome video from Saltwater Studios to see how the night went down!

Fall Wedding in Philadelphia's Fishtown at Front & Palmer

When your love story includes an engagement ring made out of bacon, you know it’s a good one! From my first meeting with Lauren & Jamie, I knew their wedding planning journey was going to be full of fun and lots of laughs.

Lauren popped the question to Jamie while on a trip to Jackson Hole — the bacon grease burnt his finger, he asked if she was joking, and she burst into happy tears. It looks like he said yes, and clearly, they're headed for a life of giddy happiness!

Lauren & Jamie were all about creating a day that was truly a representation of them {which you know is by far my favorite thing}! From centaur cuff links to a confetti toss recessional, and from a choreographed first dance to “It Takes Two {To Make a Thing Go Right}," to a collection of gold shoes — it's safe to say we succeeded in what we set out to do.

Lindsay from Readyluck did an amazing job of capturing the personalities of the couple as well as everyone else who was part of the day. They're masters in the art of capturing a moment.

As always, Falls Flowers nailed the floral designs. The color palette, texture, and overall “feel” of the florals were exactly what Lauren envisioned. Each centerpiece made a statement without obstructing the view across the table — something the couple specifically requested.

The couple selected Front & Palmer as their venue because it had warmth and character, yet still had the 'blank slate' quality that allowed them to make it feel like their own.

I’m still ecstatic they went with the recommendation for Birdhouse Productions as their videographer — they did such an amazing job capturing the joy and personalities of Lauren and Jamie. You have to watch their video — I mean, seriously, you've gotta to see that first dance choreography!

Lauren and Jamie — you were a joy to work with and I know you're in for a very happy life together. Congratulations and thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your special day!
